UPCOMING MEETINGS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC:

Our March 12, 2012 speaker, Arthur Venditti, of the Product Development Network  www.ProductDevelopmentNetwork.com has a lifetime of experience inventing, developing, and licensing small products - both his own and other's.  He has helped many IANE members, both at our regular and Inventors Clinic meetings.  Arthur last spoke to the IANE in December 2009

Our April 9, 2012 speaker, David Abramowitz, is in the process of launching Kulkea, a maker of innovative ski and ski boot backpacks.  See his very professional website at http://www.kulkea.com  David tested some of his ideas at the Inventors Clinic.

Our May 14,2012 speaker, Jack Lander, is a full-time mentor to inventors and new product startup entrepreneurs.  Jack is the author of How to Finance Your Invention or Great Idea.  He has written a regular column for Inventors Digest for the past 15 years and is also an active inventor with over a dozen issued patents.  For more, see www.inventor-mentor.com


Who We Are

The Inventors' Association of New England (IANE), founded on July 28, 1977, is a group of inventors having a common interest in helping fellow inventors get their inventions moving along the right track. Expert speakers and members are available to provide guidance to inventors in the patent protection area, marketing, product development, prototyping and other topics of interest to inventors.  Many IANE members have decades of experience in inventing matters and can provide valuable insight into the often perplexing invention process.  Anyone interested in inventing should join IANE.

Access to 6 Inventor Clinics per Year

At the Inventors Clinic, inventors help each other.  New product ideas are discussed and critiqued by other member inventors under confidentiality.  Members are allotted fifteen minutes to present and discuss their invention idea.  Frequent breaks allow individual discussion.  For each presentation a separate confidentiality document is signed by all in attendance  which additionally gives ownership to the presenter of any ideas generated at the meeting or as a result of it.  Each presentation is videorecorded and made available to the presenter only.  This unique activity has been in operation since 1999.  Inventor Clinic dates for 2012 are January 11, March 14, May 16, July 11, September 12, and November 14.  All take place at a member's house in Lexington, MA, starting at 7 PM .

10 Expert Speakers each Year

Free attendance at the IANE monthly meetings held  at M.I.T. Bldg.# 4, Room 231 at 77 Mass Ave, Cambridge, MA.  They are held on the second Monday of every month.  In June we have a social meeting for members and guests at another location and in August we do not meet.   Regular IANE  Meetings start at 7 PM and run to approx. 9:30 PM.   You should plan to arrive at 6:30 PM for pre-meeting networking.  Networking also continues after the regular meeting.   Please check out our past speakers to see the topics and wealth of information shared.

The regular monthly meetings of the IANE take place at MIT in Room 4-231, which is on the second floor of Building 4.  The location of the room is shown in the accompanying map, which is worth printing and bringing with you.  http://whereis.mit.edu/map-jpg?selection=4&Buildings=go

PARKING:
Park on any of the surrounding streets where it is legally permitted, such as Memorial Drive, Mass Ave, Vassar Street, and Ames Street.  Parking can be usually found along Ames Street (see map).  The parking meters do not need to be fed after 6 PM.  Enter MIT through any of the interconnected buildings.  If you park on Ames Street, a suggested entry point is at the tip of Building 66, also known as the Landau Building.  Follow the internal corridors heading toward the main campus where 4-231 is located.

Each month, members receive a newsletter with detailed information about the upcoming speaker.

Videos of Speaker Presentations

Since mid-2009 most speaker's presentations with all questions and discussion have been put online in streaming video format for members.

Access to 30 year old Network and Information

Members get access to the past 15 years of newsletters and a network of other member inventors who share common interests or who have much needed information and expertise.

Members get access to a searchable database of member profiles so you can look up, say, a patent lawyer or chemical engineer and contact that member with questions about your particular inventing issues.
